About Me

Emelia is a Boston-based cultural heritage professional with experience in fine art and cultural resource management, disaster response, and heritage planning. She was a 2023–2025 Presidential Management Fellow and Historical Architect with the National Park Service and a 2023 MESDA Summer Institute Fellow, and she has held positions with Ørsted, PURE Insurance, the Terra Foundation for American Art, and the Smart Museum of Art, among others. She earned a master’s in Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia School of Architecture and bachelor’s in History with Honors from the University of Chicago. 


Writing & Website Design

Emelia’s writing on the contemporary art world has appeared in The New Art Examiner, IdeelArt Magazine, and Art Media Agency (AMA). Her work on American material culture has been published by The Journal of Southern Decorative Arts. She manages the Henni Lehmann Catalogue Raisonné and has designed websites and virtual galleries to showcase the work of artists Nitza D. Lyman and James Milton Sessions.


History, Architecture & Preservation

As a former Historical Architect with the National Park Service, Emelia has led innovative research at historic sites across the United States. Her work includes a Historic Structure Report for the Burnside-Dellinger House at Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park and an Interior Finishes Study of 234 Sunset Avenue—the King Family home at Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park. She has presented her research at leading forums, including the Maryland Historical Trust’s Fieldwork Symposium and the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Art Annual Conference.
